Daina’s Collagen Frozen Yogurt Bites

Daina’s Collagen Frozen Yogurt Bites

Creamy, chocolate-topped, and packed with nourishing ingredients, these frozen yogurt bites are one of Daina’s favourite summer snacks this year! They’re rich in healthy fats, low in sugar, and include collagen to support healthy hair, skin, nails, and joints. Use Greek yogurt or go dairy-free with coconut yogurt - either way, they’re the perfect cool-down treat for adults and kids alike.

Prep Time: 15 min
Freeze Time: 2–3 hrs
Total Time: 2 hr 15 min
Serves: 18 mini bites

Ingredients

For the Yogurt Base:

  • 1 cup thick Greek yogurt or coconut yogurt (see notes)
  • 3 tbsp cashew butter or almond butter
  • 3 tbsp maple syrup (add another tbsp for extra sweetness)
  • 3 tbsp Total Body Collagen powder (or your favorite protein powder)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Good pinch of sea salt (we love Celtic Sea Salt)
  • Handful of cacao nibs (optional but antioxidant-rich!)

For the Chocolate Topping:

  • ¾ cup chocolate chips or chopped dark chocolate
  • ½ tbsp coconut oil

Instructions

  1. Make the yogurt mixture: In a mixing bowl, combine yogurt, nut butter, maple syrup, collagen or protein powder, vanilla, and sea salt. Whisk until smooth and creamy. Taste and adjust sweetness or salt. Fold in cacao nibs if using.
  2. Fill your molds: Spoon the mixture into silicone mini muffin molds or an ice cube tray, filling each cavity about ⅔ full.
  3. Melt the chocolate: In a small bowl, combine chocolate and coconut oil. Microwave in 30-second increments (stirring each time) or use a double boiler until smooth.
  4. Top and freeze: Pour the melted chocolate over each yogurt bite to fill the rest of the mold. Freeze for 2–3 hours or until fully set.
  5. Serve and store: Pop out of the molds and store in an airtight container in the freezer. Let thaw 2–3 minutes before enjoying for the best creamy texture.

Notes

  • Use thick yogurt for the best results.
  • For a nut-free version, use sunflower seed butter. Peanut butter also works, but adds a more distinct flavour.
  • Choose a collagen flavour you love. If you don’t love your protein powder, leave it out - flavour matters here!
